LOCATION

Berlin is located in the eastern region of Germany, about 70 km from the border of Poland.

HOW TO GET THERE

Flights from Lufthansa and Aegean arrive at the airport Tegel (TXL) and  Easyjet flights arrive at the airport Schoenefeld (SXF)

TRANSPORTATION

You'll find three different zones (A, B, C) and the company BVG, who control the whole network of transport, offering metro, trains and trams. The Metro stations are quite frequent but not all of the lines are linked together. However, you can find trains every 1-2 minutes during peak hours especially since there are 10 different lines. Buses are less convenient in comparison to the tram which is quite handy. Taxis are also a very convenient way to travel.

MONUMENTS

Definitely worth checking out is the Berlin Wall and the collapse of it at the old Checkpoint Charlie. Located at the end of the Pariser Platz is the Brandenburg Gate, which was based on ancient Greek architecture. Also a very well known modern monument is the Fernsehturm tower at Alexanderplatz. You can still see the Soviet Monument for the Second World War. In West Berlin you can find ruins of a church that was bombed during the war

MUSEUMS

There are more than 170 museums available to view at Berlin. The main attraction is the German Historical Museum and the Museum of Pergamum. You can also see the largest dinosaur skeleton in the world at the Museum of Natural History.
