LOCATION

Located on the coast of the Arabian Gulf and is the largest city in the United Arab Emirates.

HOW TO GET THERE

With direct flights by Emirates Airlines, and with stopover with Qatar (via Doha), Turkish Airlines (via Istanbul) and Emirates (via Abu Dhabi)

TRANSPORTATION

In Dubai there is a transport network with busses which is quite satisfactory, alternatively you can hire a taxi. If you choose the second option it would be advised for you to negotiate in advance the cost of your transportations since taxis do not have meters. Given that Dubai is a city of exaggeration you can rent water taxis up to small and luxurious limousines.

MONUMENTS

In Dubai you can see the highest skyscraper in the world, totaling 800 meters in height, which was unveiled in early 2010. Many rushed to classify it as a monument of vanity, because of the poor economic situation of the emirate; nevertheless it is the most impressive building in the entire city. MUSEUMS

If you decide to visit a museum, it is worth visiting the old town and the fortress Bastakiya Al Fahibi which was built around 1787. The most striking thing about it is that while it looks nothing like a museum from the outside, the interior is very. You'll find important information about the city's history, their habits and how Dubai from a simple village became what it is in the current day. It is open all days up to 8.30 pm. It is definitely worth the visit.

MONEY

Official currency is the Dirham (Dh), which is divided into 100 fils.
There are notes of 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1.000 Dh and coins of 1 Dh, 50, 25, 10 and 5 fils.
The exchange rate is about 1 Dh = 0,213212 euros.
