LOCATION

Corfu is located in the northern part of the Ionian Sea.

HOW TO GET THERE

You can get there with flights from Eleftherios Venizelos, with Olympic airways and Aegean. Alternatively you can the boat from the port of Parga and Igoumenitsa. If you plan to take a car it is recommended to travel from the port of Igoumenitsa.

TRANSPORTATION

If you plan to use your own means of transport you should be cautious, since the streets are very narrow and very slippery. Traffic is quite high because of the bad roads, especially in the summer. Alternatively you can use the bus which is very consistent.

MONUMENTS

The most known monument of Corfu is the Old Fort, where you can combine a visit and see the church of St. George. Another sight worth viewing is the Mon Repo old royal residence which is now a beautiful park.

MUSEUMS

Certainly visit the Archaeological Museum which displays findings that only originate from the island of Corfu. Quite interesting is the Asian Museum and the Museum Capodistrias. You can also find very interesting and alternative museums like the Museum of the Olive Tree and the Sea.

BEACHES

This Green Island is known for its excellent beaches. There a lot of beaches available, each beach different to suit everyone’s needs. Our personal advice is to visit the west beaches of the island which are quite impressive although the water might be very cold. Recommended beaches are St. Gorgis , Glyfada, Laconia, and Issus. Definitely visit Sidari and the Canal d'amour as the landscape is very special.

ABOUT THE ISLAND

The island of Corfu is probably the greenest in Greece. Especially if you travel with children you will discover that this is an ideal island for families. Visit Aqualand, which is a huge water park that will fascinate children and adults. Discover the Old Town Square and relax at Spanidada, the largest square in the Balkans. Definitely the best time to experience and understand why the island has become so popular is at Easter.
