LOCATION
Located in the South Aegean sea in the Cyclades.
HOW TO GET THERE
You can get there with flights from Olympic airways to the state airport of Paros. You can get to Paros by boat from Piraeus with the following companies: the Blue Star, Hellenic Sea Ways and Aegean Speed Lines. You can also get a boat from the port of Rafina with Blue Star, Hellenic Seaways,Aegean Speed Lines ,Cyclades Fast Ferries and Sea Jets.
TRANSPORTATION
Paros is generally considered to be a relatively small island. Public transport is well organized and consistent. If you want to avoid overcrowding on public transport choose either a motorbike or car. In Parikia, you can find several shops that rent motorbikes; all you need is to be cautious as you will notice that everyone drives one.
BEACHES
Paros is an island famous for its beautiful beaches. They are really clean and the waters are crystal clear. You can swim at Punta, which is the famous beach bar on the island where all people gather from all over the island. Also a very beautiful and well known beach is Santa Marina, which is located about 2 km from Naoussa. Suitable beaches for families are Kolibithres, Aliki and Piso Aliki.
ENTERTAINMENT
You will realize that Paros is a very vivid island, especially in the summer. There are two main towns that attract people, Naoussa and Parikia. it all depends on the entertainment you prefer, however we suggest you visit both. It is worth mentioning, that the Greeks prefer Naousa and the tourists prefer Parikia. The shops, however, are numerous in both areas.
ABOUT THE ISLAND
Paros is one of the most popular Greek islands, it is well worth the visit. It is the Jewel of the Cyclades, with white and blue buildings almost everywhere. The island is primarily intended for young people and those who are young at heart. Stroll down the narrow streets, buy some souvenirs from the small gift shops, try very tasty local dishes and delicacies and relax enjoying delicious cocktails at very nice bars/café’s. Do not miss the opportunity to visit the opposite island Antiparos, where you can go swimming and also enjoy very tasty food.
