Aegean Airlines is the biggest airline in Greece. It was founded in 1987, offering initially VIP & Air Ambulance services. In 1992, it was the 1st private company to receive a license for operating scheduled passenger flights.

The fleet consists of 30 aircrafts: 28 are modern Airbus A319, 320 & 321. There are also 2 Avro RJ100.

The company has joined Star Alliance, the largest airline alliance, in the summer of 2010. It continues to strategically collaborate with the largest airline in Europe, Lufthansa and has also commercial agreements with the following airlines: TAP Air Portugal, SN Brussels Airlines, British Midland International (BMI), Continental Airlines and Spanair.
